SOPA Has been Defeated… for a little bit!

Due to immense public pressure Congress canceled the vote on SOPA and adjourned until next year! This is a great victory for the internet! The Fight is not over yet, as the bill will come up again, probably on December 21st. The next time the bill comes up we will update you on what is going on and how to fight it. Thanks to the everyday people like you, this anti-free speech bill was not passed!


Fight SOPA – The Online Piracy Act that will Censor the Internet!

SOPA is currently being debated by the US Congress.

According to Wikipedia, ” The bill expands the ability of U.S. law enforcement and copyright holders to fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods.[2] Now before the House Judiciary Committee, it builds on the similar PRO-IP Act of 2008 and the corresponding Senate bill, the Protect IP Act.[3]“

Digg Announces New CEO Amid v4 Backlash

Digg Announces new CEOJust a couple of hours ago Digg announced on it’s company’s blog that Matt Williams will replace interim CEO Kevin Rose.  Williams had previously been an executive at Amazon for the past 11 years. The new version of Digg is only a couple of days old, and already it has generated a lot of errors and a lot of hate. New Digg Day 1: Full of Fail & Good Ideas

Digg logoThe new version of Digg launched today to mixed reviews, good ideas and lots of fail. Comments across the web from places like Facebook and Twitter show that a lot of users have experienced the same problems I have: horribly slow loading times, problems logging in, discrepancies in the number of Diggs and other errors.

Excited to see some new interesting content you click on the link and BAM… it happens… the website re-sizes your browser window without your permission. Annoying isn’t it? Why do webmasters do this?

This trend used to be more popular in the late 90?s and early 2000?s, especially with webmaster-related sites and clipart sites. Back then a lot of those sites had stupid “Click Here to Enter” landing pages with no text and would re-size your browser window. (continue reading…)
