Web designers jump at the opportunity to get new business, but there are certain types of clients that will cause your business more harm than good. Here are a few examples of clients to watch out for.
Every web designer has had the client that expects a website for free, and that it will benefit us so greatly. Think of all the exposure we will get. Some people even advertise it as an “internship,” which a lot of times can translate into we do not want to pay you for the website you build us.
My advice… pass these jobs up. They almost never lead to the referrals promised, and it undermines the value of what you do. If you do a good job, you can get clients and still turn a profit
